Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across the Arkansas Ozarks and Little Red River country

AC Tune-Up

An AC tune-up is a hands-on service visit where we clean, test and adjust your air conditioner or heat pump in cooling mode so it runs through the hot months without surprises. Homeowners across Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee book one in spring, or any time cooling feels weaker than last year. If your system is short-cycling, icing up or running long without cooling the house, call us and we will schedule a visit on your route.

What an AC tune-up involves

We start at the thermostat and work outward. That means checking the call for cooling, measuring temperature split across the indoor coil, and reading amp draw on the compressor and blower motor. Outside, we clear leaves and grass clippings from the condenser, wash the coil when it needs it, and check that the unit sits level with clear airflow on all sides. Indoors we look at the filter, the blower wheel and the condensate drain. Then we tell you plainly what we found.

What we check and what we replace

Capacitors, contactors and relays are the parts that fail most on older units in this region, so we test them rather than guess. We check refrigerant performance against the operating pressures the system should be seeing, inspect wiring and disconnects for heat damage, and flush a clogged condensate line before it backs up into a ceiling. Filters get changed. If a part reads weak but has not failed yet, we say so and let you decide whether to replace it now.

How we decide a tune-up is the right call

If your system still cools but does it slowly or noisily, a tune-up usually finds the reason. If it is not cooling at all, blowing warm air, or tripping the breaker every afternoon, that is air conditioning repair work and we treat it that way. Age matters too. On a heat pump past fifteen years with a dying compressor, we will talk honestly about repair versus replacement instead of selling you a cleaning that will not fix it.

AC Tune-Up — quick answers

How often should I get an AC tune-up?

Once a year for most homes, in spring before the first stretch of real heat. Houses on gravel roads, near hayfields or with pets shedding indoors often benefit from a second look at the coil and filter mid-season.

Can I do anything myself before you arrive?

You can change the filter, check thermostat batteries and settings, confirm the breaker has not tripped, clear grass and leaves away from the outdoor unit, and make sure supply vents are open. Leave refrigerant and electrical work to us.

Will a tune-up fix an AC that is freezing up?

Sometimes. Icing often traces back to restricted airflow from a dirty filter or coil, which we handle during the visit. If the cause is low refrigerant or a failing blower motor, that becomes an air conditioner repair and we will explain the options first.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what the system is doing. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a breaker that keeps tripping. That detail helps us load the right parts before we roll.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule around travel

Hill-country routes take time, so we give you a realistic window instead of a guess. If you are on a long county road, we tell you that up front and keep you posted if the day shifts.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then explain

We test the system, find the actual fault and walk you through what failed and what the repair involves. You decide before we start. If a part has to be ordered, we say when it lands.

Why homeowners call us

  • Older systems are normal herePlenty of homes on our routes run a heat pump from two decades back, a propane furnace and a wood stove for the cold snaps. We repair what you have rather than pushing you toward replacement on the first visit.
  • Heating and cooling bothSame crew handles air conditioning repair in summer and heating repair in winter. That means we know your system's history when the season flips, and we are not learning your ductwork from scratch in January.
  • We say what we do not knowIf a fault is intermittent, we tell you that instead of replacing parts on a hunch. Sometimes the honest answer is a monitoring period or a second visit when the weather brings the problem back.
  • Regional coverage, local paceWe cover Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Travel time is part of every job we quote, so you get a window that accounts for the drive rather than a promise that falls apart.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
