Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across the Arkansas Ozarks and Little Red River country

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers

We install and service whole-home dehumidifiers that tie into your ductwork and pull moisture out of the whole house, and we do that work across Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Homeowners call us when the thermostat says 74 but the house still feels sticky, when windows fog, when a crawl space or basement smells musty, or when mold keeps coming back in the same corner. Call us and describe what you are seeing and where, and we will set a time to look at the house.

HVAC technician at work

What the job involves

A whole-home dehumidifier is a sealed unit that sits alongside your HVAC system, usually near the air handler, and moves house air across a cold coil to wring water out of it. We cut and seal the duct connections, run a condensate drain to a suitable point, wire in a humidistat control, and set the target humidity. Most installs take a good part of a day. On hill-country routes we plan travel so the crew arrives with the parts already on the truck.'

What we check before and during install

We start with the house, not the equipment. We measure humidity in a few rooms, look at the crawl space or basement, check for a vapor barrier, and look for open returns pulling damp air from under the floor. We check duct sizing and static pressure, because a dehumidifier added to an already strained duct system will disappoint you. We confirm your AC is cooling and draining properly first, since a dirty coil or a short cycling system often reads as a humidity problem.

How we decide it is the right call

Sometimes it is not. If your air conditioner is oversized and shutting off before it dehumidifies, fixing that gets you further than new equipment. If a crawl space is open to bare dirt, sealing and a barrier come first. We recommend a whole-home dehumidifier when the house stays above comfortable humidity even with the system running right, or when you cool with a heat pump in shoulder season and the AC barely runs. We will tell you plainly which case you are in.

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers — quick answers

Will a whole-home dehumidifier replace my portable one?

Yes, in most homes. A ducted unit treats every room the system serves instead of one, drains automatically instead of needing a bucket emptied, and runs off a humidistat rather than you remembering to switch it on.

Does it run when the AC is off?

It can. Most units run independently on their own control, which matters in spring and fall when outdoor temperatures are mild, the air conditioning barely cycles, and indoor humidity climbs anyway.

What humidity should I set it to?

Most homes feel right between 45 and 55 percent. We set a starting point at install, then ask you to live with it a week and call us if rooms feel clammy or too dry so we can adjust.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what the system is doing. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a breaker that keeps tripping. That detail helps us load the right parts before we roll.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule around travel

Hill-country routes take time, so we give you a realistic window instead of a guess. If you are on a long county road, we tell you that up front and keep you posted if the day shifts.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then explain

We test the system, find the actual fault and walk you through what failed and what the repair involves. You decide before we start. If a part has to be ordered, we say when it lands.

Why homeowners call us

  • Older systems are normal herePlenty of homes on our routes run a heat pump from two decades back, a propane furnace and a wood stove for the cold snaps. We repair what you have rather than pushing you toward replacement on the first visit.
  • Heating and cooling bothSame crew handles air conditioning repair in summer and heating repair in winter. That means we know your system's history when the season flips, and we are not learning your ductwork from scratch in January.
  • We say what we do not knowIf a fault is intermittent, we tell you that instead of replacing parts on a hunch. Sometimes the honest answer is a monitoring period or a second visit when the weather brings the problem back.
  • Regional coverage, local paceWe cover Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Travel time is part of every job we quote, so you get a window that accounts for the drive rather than a promise that falls apart.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
