We cut and seal the duct connections, run a condensate drain to a suitable point, wire in a humidistat control, and set the target humidity. Most installs take a good part of a day. We start with the house, not the equipment. We measure humidity in a few rooms, look at the crawl space or basement, check for a vapor barrier, and look for open returns pulling damp air from under the floor. We check duct sizing and static pressure, because a dehumidifier added to an already strained duct system will disappoint you.
