Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across the Arkansas Ozarks and Little Red River country

UV Lights & Ventilation

We install and service ultraviolet lamps and mechanical ventilation for homes across Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee. UV lamps mount inside the air handler to keep the coil and drain pan clear of mold and biological growth. Ventilation work brings measured fresh air into a tight house so stale, humid indoor air has somewhere to go. If your home smells musty when the AC runs, or windows sweat all winter, call us and we will look at the whole system before recommending anything.

What the job involves

A UV install starts at the air handler. We find a mounting spot where the lamp shines on the wet side of the evaporator coil, cut and seal the opening, and run power from a safe point in the cabinet. Ventilation work is different. That may mean a fresh air intake tied into the return, a bath or kitchen exhaust that actually moves air, or a balanced ventilator on a tighter home. Both jobs end with us running the system and confirming airflow has not changed.

What we check or install

We look at the coil and drain pan first, because a lamp does not fix a coil already packed with growth. That gets cleaned. We check filter fit and the return for leaks pulling in crawlspace air, since a bad return undoes any IAQ work. On the ventilation side we measure exhaust fan airflow, check duct runs to the outside instead of into an attic, and look at humidity levels. Then we size the lamp or intake to your HVAC system, not a catalog guess.

How we decide it is the right call

UV makes sense when the problem is biological, meaning musty odors that show up with cooling, slime in the drain pan, or a coil that fouls faster than it should. It does not help with dust, pollen or smoke. Those are filtration questions. Ventilation is the answer when the house holds moisture, cooking and shower odors linger, or the air feels heavy. We spend time in the home first. On our hill-country routes, plenty of houses with wood heat and older heat pumps need airflow work more than a lamp.

UV Lights & Ventilation — quick answers

How often does a UV lamp need replacing?

Most lamps lose output after about a year even though they still glow. We note the install date and check the lamp during service visits so you know when the bulb has stopped doing useful work.

Will a UV light stop my allergies?

Probably not on its own. UV targets mold and biological growth on the coil. Pollen and dust are particles, and those come down to filtration and sealing up leaky returns. We can look at both together.

Does adding fresh air ventilation make heating and cooling harder?

Only if it is sized wrong. We calculate how much outside air the home needs and control when it enters, so your HVAC system is not fighting a wide open hole in the ductwork.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what the system is doing. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a breaker that keeps tripping. That detail helps us load the right parts before we roll.

  2. Step 2

    We schedule around travel

Hill-country routes take time, so we give you a realistic window instead of a guess. If you are on a long county road, we tell you that up front and keep you posted if the day shifts.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then explain

We test the system, find the actual fault and walk you through what failed and what the repair involves. You decide before we start. If a part has to be ordered, we say when it lands.

Why homeowners call us

  • Older systems are normal herePlenty of homes on our routes run a heat pump from two decades back, a propane furnace and a wood stove for the cold snaps. We repair what you have rather than pushing you toward replacement on the first visit.
  • Heating and cooling bothSame crew handles air conditioning repair in summer and heating repair in winter. That means we know your system's history when the season flips, and we are not learning your ductwork from scratch in January.
  • We say what we do not knowIf a fault is intermittent, we tell you that instead of replacing parts on a hunch. Sometimes the honest answer is a monitoring period or a second visit when the weather brings the problem back.
  • Regional coverage, local paceWe cover Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Travel time is part of every job we quote, so you get a window that accounts for the drive rather than a promise that falls apart.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
